I Asked This Class of Kpop Trainees What Separates (and Connects) Hiphop and Kpop

A few weeks ago, I taught a rap class at a Kpop training center, and this is part two of three in the series.

Kpop has it’s obvious elements that were influenced by Hiphop. Well, it’s obvious to me, being a long-time, dedicated student of the culture. However, I was worried that the younger generation (that didn’t experience the rise of Hiphop into pop culture) might think that pop (and Kpop) culture created these elements themselves and were not learned from Hiphop.

I needed to make sure that was the case and that the next generation would be educated on such matters so I asked the necessary questions because I, myself, needed these answers.

Watch the video above to see where the conversation lead.
